February 22, 2019 - Day 320 - 2 Kings 7

I am writing from my desk in Seattle, WA.

2 Kings 7:

Elisha says that the famine will be over the next day, but one of the king's officials doesn't really believe him.  Elisha reminds this dude that he will soon find out, but won't get to eat any of it.  Elisha isn't the most gracious.

So there's four dudes with leprosy deciding what to do.  Stay on the outside of the city and they die, go into the city where the famine is and die, or go over to the camp of the Arameans and surrender, where they could also possibly die.  They decided to surrender, but it turns out that no one was there.  They were able to eat and drink and loot around a bit.

There's a moment where they feel bad for keeping what they've found to themselves, so they went and reported it to the royal palace.  And we don't hear anything else about these men.

The king sends people out and they plundered the camp.  The guy that Elisha told wouldn't eat; well people trampled him and he died.

Back to the men with leprosy.

They found something worth sharing, and decided not to keep it to themselves.
