November 9, 2018 - Day 215 - Judges 4

I am writing from downtown Los Angeles, CA.

Judges 4:

As we’ve seen, this opens with the Israelites continuing on with their evil.  They cried out because God put them in nine years of slavery since they suck.

So we’ve got a lady named Deborah.  This is a pretty prominent role for a woman during this time; she’s a judge who has been risen up, and she was a prophet.

She tells some dudes to prepare for battle; but Barak says he will only go if she goes.  She obliges but says there’s no glory for him with his attitude like that.

Then the story closes with a long way of killing someone by driving a tent peg through their temple. P
