June 21, 2018 - Day 74 - Exodus 24
I am writing from my hotel room in Salt Lake City, UT.
Exodus 24:
God tells Moses to come up (the mountain I guess), but the others must stay at a distance. Moses tells the people all the laws and whatnot, they say they will do whatever God says. Then Moses writes down everything that God said.
Moses builds an altar and there's some burnt offerings (the usual stuff). He put some blood in bowls and splashed some on the altar. Obviously.
He also sprinkled some blood on the people as a way of saying that they'll do whatever God said for them to do. Remember, that includes not oppressing foreigners.
Moses and the elders and whatnot went to see God, and apparently God had feet. Weird.
So Moses goes up to the mountain for six days, during which a cloud covered the mountain. On the seventh day, God called Moses up to a cloud where God was. In a cloud. A CLOUD.
This apparently looked like fire to the Israelites below.
So Moses enters the cloud and stays on the mountain for forty days and forty nights.
Okay then.
